After a long day’s drive through windy roads, gigantic trees and rustic terrain we arrived in South Lake Tahoe. Wow, what a beautiful place! We were immediately met by our Destination Expert Amy and she recommended a local’s favorite for dinner: Orchids Thaiâ restaurant; the veggie delight and the pumpkin curry were unbelievable.
The next day we skied Heavenly Resort, this mountain has it all, blues, greens and plenty of steeps. After checking out of our giant home off of Golden Bear Way we moved onto North Lake Tahoe. Over the weekend we skied Alpine Meadows and the famous Squaw Resort. Our partners at Lake Tahoe Accommodations set us up at a great old style cabin house. This home had a great location that was within walking distance of the lake and a short drive to the nightlife and dining. Lake Tahoe is the perfect place for a big family ski vacation or small trip with close friends.
