Grand Sierra Resort and Casino: Reno Nevada

If you are looking for a great value and an easy drive to Tahoe, you should check out the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. This resort has something to offer for adults and kids of all ages. My favorite part of the resort (other than it being pet friendly) is the downstairs “mall” area. Down there you will find a bowling alley, movie theater, virtual golf, huge arcade, the “beach,” pizza, candy store, spa and much more! The 50-lane bowling alley is not only fun but affordable for families. Between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., you get four games, a pitcher of beer and a pizza for $14.95! Don’t want to wake up early? No worries. The bowling alley is open 24 hours. The small cinema plays older movies but they are always $3. Wanna get out of the casino and ski? It’s is easy. Several resort shuttles pick up each day at the front of the resort. You can be whisked away and at a resort in 30 minutes to an hour depending on where you go. During the summertime, enjoy some of the great festivals in Reno. Rib Fest, Hot August Night, Balloon Fest, the air show… and much more. There is always something happening in this little town.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention their rooms… they aren’t bad either. The Grand Suite is the room I have had the opportunity to stay in, and it is gorgeous. King bed, mini fridge, microwave and a sitting area which gives you plenty of room to move around. The bathroom has been redone but only has a shower in it. While you get ready you can catch up on the news in the bathroom on a flat-screen TV! Pretty cool, huh?

With a gaming floor that would make any gambler drool, mouthwatering restaurants and a kids’ wonderland downstairs, you won’t be disappointed!
