After a fast and furious working morning I was able to take some time off to enjoy Vail. My afternoon started beautifully with a lunch at Tavern on the Square. Located within the Arrabelle at Vail Square, the lunch was as beautiful as the lodge itself. This was also enhanced by catching some of the Women’s World Cup on the big screens located throughout the bar area of the restaurant.
After lunch I had a bit of respite by the pool at my accommodations: the Ritz Carlton of Vail. They offer a great pool area and even have foam noodles for the kids (or 28-year-old traveling vacation specialists). At this point I was scheduled for a spa treatment at the Spa at Arrabelle Square. Before my 50-minute full-body massage I had time for a soak in the spa’s soaking tub. After the massage I felt like the wet noodle I left back at the pool.
Feeling invigorated after a great lunch, pool time and a “to-die-for spa treatment,” I decided to take the Eagle Bahn Gondola to enjoy a beer the views from 10,350 feet at Talon’s deck; impressive to say the least!
It was a rough day, but as they say in the Flintstones, “It’s a living!”
