Telluride is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The views of the “fourteeners” are spectacular and breathtaking. When you decide to visit, you want to make sure you get the best views of this amazing place, and The Peaks Resort has got ‘em!
Not only that, but The Peaks offers the best amenities I’ve seen. They have everything from the best ski-in/ski-out access I’ve come across, golf right out back, several spectacular restaurants to choose from on site, numerous heated pools both indoor and out, the only indoor water slide in the city, rock climbing walls, pilates machines, an arcade room with the latest games and best of all the largest spa in all of Colorado.
We caught brunch at Palmyra on the main floor of the resort thanks to Alan Palmer. The views from inside are ample with floor to ceiling windows offering fabulous views of the peaks after which the resort is named. They offer food brought in from local growers. The prices are fair for the quality and quanity of food you can expect. I suggest sitting out on the patio. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and they had a live band playing John Denver songs which went perfect with the Rocky Mountain high you’ll get from the view!
We sampled the duck and applewood-smoked bacon waffle, Eggs Hussarde and the root beer barbecue chipped beef and eggs. I’m always a little intimidated when it comes to trying new foods, but everything we had was fantastic! I never thought that duck and waffles would ever work together so well. The root beer barbecue chipped beef was so sweet and tender it just melted away in your mouth. And, the Eggs Hussard hollandaise was some of the best I’ve ever tasted.
I personally can’t wait to stay at The Peaks and will highly recommend it to all of my Telluride clientele.
