I have heard many a tale of great places to eat, but the Main Street Bakery in Aspen can’t be beat! It’s a huge hit with the locals, and come wintertime there will be a line out the door where people wait in the snow cause they can’t pass up on this fine establishment.
I had to try it out for myself. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated on an early Friday morning. The bakery was packed wall to wall, and filled with conversation and laughter.
I decided on the veggie omelet and a biscuit with gravy. The gravy was so rich and delicious and the omelet was light and filling. I had to try the pancakes, since I’ve heard rumors that they were delicious, but they weren’t — they were absolutely delectable. The hostess even came around and offered us free donut holes that were perfectly sweet and warm.
Be sure to stop in and see what all the buzz is about. If you don’t mind paying a bit more for great food and an interesting atmosphere then this is the place. Be prepared that it can be rather noisy and busy, so if you’re looking for a nice quiet breakfast then keep looking! I’m certain you won’t be disappointed. It’s located at the corner of Aspen and Main Street, right next to Paepcke Park. Bon appetit!
