Every time I go on vacation I look forward to meeting new people, seeing new places, and most of all trying new restaurants. Last time I was in Aspen, I especially enjoyed two outings. The first was dinner at Jimmy’s, a great steakhouse on South Mill Street. I was happy to be dining with two other friends who were gracious enough to share their dishes with me. Everything we had was amazing. I will most definitely go back again next time I am in Aspen. I had the filet, which was cooked to perfection. They also had some very interesting side dishes, like mac and cheese with bacon and jalapenos and an amazing cauliflower puree. Now my mouth is watering again just thinking about it!
The other unforgettable place we visited was the J Bar, which is located in the lobby of the Hotel Jerome. It is a great place for a night cap. The hotel is very unique. It was built in the 1900′s and everything has been meticulously restored and refurbished, but it is all original. It is almost like going back in time – you can look out of the windows and imagine a horse and buggy rolling down the street. They even have their own signature drink, the “Aspen Crud”, which despite its name is a delicious milkshake spiked with bourbon. If you get a chance, check them out! You will not be disappointed.

My 17 yr old daughter is going skiing in Breckenridge Jan 17-25. Her stuff is in Snowmass where we have a home. I am planning on flying out a day or so early and driving to Breckenridge with our ski stuff and skiing with her and then driving back and flying out afterwards. Where do you think I should stay under $250 per night, I will have a vehicle but as I remember parking is difficult. If this is true should I stay at the Breckenridge chateau? That is ski in Ski out or what do you suggest? Thanks in advance. Sheila Valenti

A fascinating discussion is worth comment. I do think that you should write more on this subject matter, it may not be a taboo matter but usually people don’t discuss such subjects. To the next! Many thanks!!
