Hidden Gems of Traveling

I recently had the pleasure to visit Whistler. For those of you unfamiliar with the name, it is a beautiful town located in British Colombia, Canada. They hosted most of the downhill ski events during the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Whistler is known for great skiing, restaurants, biking and much more.

The drive from Vancouver to Whistler is stunning.

On this particular trip I slowed down and took pleasure in the scenery. Seems simple, but in our busy lives it often goes unnoticed. As you leave Vancouver and meander through the mountains on continuous curves, you see the beauty of the mountains in meeting the ocean. Each turn is a surprise and the views are inspiring.

Although unpredictable, May is never a boring time to visit the mountains. I find this is when the winter thaw and the anticipation of spring meet face to face. Each day it seems a different season is winning the race. Throughout, the mountains are alive with rushing water and flowers blooming. The contrast of cold breeze and color can be seen and felt wherever you go. So on your next trip, just stop and look around. You will be amazed at what you have been missing.

All three of pictures are from the same trip to Whistler - you would never know! It looks like three different seasons.
