After a visit to Whistler, I’m ready to admit that if I can choose to be reincarnated I would come back as a dog living in Whistler. As one of the most pet-friendly resorts I’ve ever been to, there are almost as many activities for man’s best friend as there are for any other guest coming out to the resort.
As we toured property after property, I began to realize just how pet-friendly not only the surrounding area is – Whistler boasts 4 off-leash parks and 2 beaches, as well as endless miles worth of hiking and biking trails – but also the almost 20 pet-friendly on-mountain accommodations themselves.
When it’s time to leave the hotel and hit the slopes, you don’t have to worry about leaving your furry companion alone either. Whistler is full of services such as pet sitting, dog walking and grooming. If you’d like to have them by your side, take them along some of the designated dog-friendly cross-country ski trails in the winter, or look into the option of bringing them along for a canoe or kayak ride in the summer.
It seems like no matter where you go in Whistler, whether out on the trails, or in the heart of the village, you’re welcomed by dog lovers everywhere who will make your pet feel at home.
