The perfect way to escape a hot, muggy summer day is by escaping to the mountains and jamming out to awesome music. The fresh air, friendly atmosphere, and fun beats, make for just about the perfect day. Even though the snow may be gone, the resorts and mountain towns are just as lively as ever with an abundance of music festivals and FREE concert series. Take a sneak peek at a few that we are especially excited about.

1.Telluride Bluegrass Festival.
Telluride, Colorado
June 21-24.

One of the most popular and well-known Bluegrass festivals in the United States, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival returns for its 39th year. Set in the beautiful town of Telluride, CO, when you aren’t rocking out to the fiddle, you can also go hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, or enjoy one of the many hot springs.

2. Canyons Summer Concert Series

These concerts are not only fun and in a beautiful area, but they are also free. Although many of the performers have not been announced yet, the bands are always full of energy and ready to rock out. After a day of hiking, golfing, zip lining or whatever other Canyons activity you desire, a free concert is the perfect way to unwind and relax.

3. Sunset Concert Series
Telluride, CO.

Every Wednesday night, come enjoy free mountain music in Mountain Village. From Bluegrass to Blues to everything in between, the Sunset Concert Series provides great music with great people in a great place.

4. The Jackson Gore Music Series
Okemo, VT.

Back for its 7th season, The Jackson Gore Music Series is another amazing opportunity to get outside and listen to free music. The concerts take place every Friday night and have a little something for everyone. From rap to reggae to rock n roll, experience all genres of music in a picture perfect setting.

5. Cool Air Concert Series.

A personal favorite, Snowbird Resort always puts on a lively and energetic concert series. Experience the beauty of Utah’s mountains while listening to folk, bluegrass or rock. Snowbird Resort also puts on the Mountain Music Festival July 15-17 for those true music lovers.
6. Free Concerts on the Commons
Jackson Hole Resort. WY.

The artists have yet to be revealed, but every Sunday in July and August there will be free music in Teton Village. If it is anything like last year, these are concerts that you do not want to miss. Kick off your shoes, get ready to dance, and come to Jackson to experience the magic of mountain music.

Thursday is the day to be in Snowmass, CO. With free concerts running from June until August, it is sure to be a summer of great fun and great music. With a line-up that is full original sounds, this concert series will definitely be one of this summer’s highlights.

8.Free Concerts Galore
Lake Tahoe, CA.
Sunday Evening: Tahoe City’s Concerts on Commons Beach, 4-7pm.
Tuesday Evening: Bluesdays at Squaw Valley USA, 6-8pm.
Wednesday Evening: Free concerts at Truckee Amphitheater, 4-7pm.
Thursday Evening: Downtown Truckee Thursdays, 4-7pm.
Friday Evening: Music on the Beach, Kings Beach, 6:30-8:30pm.

Just in case one day of free music isn’t enough for you, Tahoe has free music FIVE nights a week. From Music on the Beach to Bluesdays at Squaw Valley, vacationing in Tahoe this summer will be music to your ears.

9. River Run Rocks Concert Series
Keystone, CO.

Featuring the acclaimed Six Million Dollar Band, the River Run Rocks series is bound to be one of the live music highlights of the summer. Not to mention, the series is sponsered by Bud Light so you can be sure that there will be some great drink specials as well!

10. Blues from the Top
Winter Park, CO.

Blues from the Top returns to the beautiful town of Winter Park for its 10th year. A perfect family friendly event, this concert series will do everything but give you the blues.
