Zip-a-dee-doo-daaaaaaaaaahhhhhh ! ! !

Many ski resorts in North America have local activities besides skiing and snowboarding – Whistler/Blackcomb is one of those resorts. On a recent visit with some co-workers, we decided to get off the slopes a little early and try a Zipline tour from The Adventure Group. We met at their storefront in Whistler Village, walked over to their bus for a short drive to Cougar Mountain for the Zoom Zipline experience. Our guides, Ollie and Jon, were both knowledgeable and entertaining. We got geared up and jumped in some crazy track vehicle for a ride up the mountain to our first of 5 ziplines. The best part of the Zoom is that it is a dual zipline so you can race through the air next to another rider!!

High-flying Adventure in Whistler

The first was easy and a good litmus test for anyone who may have had second thoughts about continuing. The other 4 ziplines were big, fast and fun. The largest was 1500 feet long, approx 400’ above the ground at the highest point, and capable of reaching 60mph!! The views toward Whistler/Blackcomb Mountains were spectacular. We walked through the woods to each of the zipline starting points, always being entertained by our guides. The whole tour was around 3 hours, but it flew by, literally!!!
