Into the Wild

Hoping to take a picture of a buffalo or catch a glimpse of an elk on your next mountain vacation? Here are three amazing mountain destinations where you have a good chance at seeing a variety of wildlife.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Jackson Hole is notorious for offering some of the most impressive wildlife encounters of just about anywhere in the United States. From Bighorn Sheep, Elk, and Moose to Coyotes, Eagles, and Grizzly Bears, Jackson has an abundant supply of wildlife in all shapes and sizes.

Big Sky, Montana
While seeing a bighorn sheep or a bull elk might not seem to be a normal occurrence, in Big Sky it is. Elk, coyotes, and moose are all commonly found throughout Big Sky. With a close proximity to Yellowstone Park, it is not surprising that there is plenty of wildlife to be observed and photographed.

Whistler, British Columbia
Whistler is known as an ideal destination for exploring the great outdoors. With its landscape full of forests, rivers, and lakes comes a diversity of wildlife throughout the area. The Whistler wilderness is best known for its common deer and black bear sightings.

So why not mix up your vacation with a little wildlife? One of the best parts about being in the mountains is seeing the amazing animals that habitat there, but beware, not all of these animals are harmless. It is important to respect the wildlife and their surroundings and to take the necessary safety precautions.
