Selecting the Right Area to Stay in Mammoth: Summer Fun

Beautiful Mammoth Lake

Located in the High Sierras of California, Mammoth Lakes is a wonderful summer vacation destination. When staying in Mammoth Lakes, you are near several state and national parks including my personal favorite, Yosemite. With more hiking, biking, boating and fishing than one person can fit into a weekend, finding the perfect accommodation is important in order to provide the easiest access to your desired activities.

For those looking for the easiest access to mountain biking and hiking to such places as the Devil’s Postpile National Monument, I would recommend staying near the Main Lodge at the Mammoth Mountain Inn. From this location you have easy access to the lifts and buses that provide access to amazing hiking and biking trails.

For those looking for a relaxing weekend near one of the sparkling lakes for fishing or sun bathing, I highly recommend staying in a cabin at the Tamarack Lodge and Resort. The Tamarack provides a wonderful atmosphere. The cabins are nestled in the woods near Twin Lakes and Lake Mary – the area is absolutely beautiful! – but don’t take my word for it. Take a look for yourself!

I was born and raised in the mountains of Utah and have loved the alpine environment my whole life. Whether I’m shredding down a mountainside, hiking up a trail or picking my mandolin in an alpine meadow, I am happiest when surrounded by mountains.
